ELMO held a music band event, Friday Jamming, at Rambat Coffee & Space cafe, Yogyakarta (05/12). The event aimed to bring back 2016 songs for attendees to enjoy and sing along with the bands.
The event took place in the outdoor area of Rambat Coffee & Space cafe, from 18.00 until 20.00 WIB. It opened with a welcoming speech by Ela and Mars, who also led the event’s rundown. The event was organized by Selavi, the manager of ELMO. Most attendees were English Letters students from Campus Sanata Dharma.
During the event, ELMO presented four different bands performing 2016-era songs. Attendees sang along, creating a lively atmosphere. Tio, one of the participants, said, “It’s cool, and it’s pretty lively. I get to see a lot of my friends; it’s fun. It’s enjoyable, and the place is very bright and clean.”
The bands performed actively, playing guitar, bass, and drums alongside singing. Evans, one of the band members, said, “We have fun, we enjoy it too. It’s exhausting but also exciting.”
The event also served as a platform to showcase the efforts of ELMO members. Selavi, the manager, explained, “From the start of our learning together, we made a few bands in the process. This event is a platform for the ELMO members as the result of our practices to make performances.” She added, “I’m happy about this event because from the start, we learn from zero, learning the chemistry, and also the struggle. And for the first Frijam—Friday Jamming—the result is already good.”
At the end of the event, all ELMO members took group photos for documentation purposes. (MF)
