What If I Shine

They told me who I had to be,
A quiet ghost they’d never see.
I smiled and bowed, I played along,
But silence never made me strong.

The mirror showed a spark inside,
A dream too wild, too big to hide.
What if I fall, what if I fly?
I’ll never know unless I try

So here I stand, no more disguise,
A blaze of hope behind my eyes.
The world may turn or cheer my name,
But I’ll still shine, all just the same.
