FCH 1 Celebration 2025 : From Strangers to Friends

Yogyakarta — Celebration for Formasi Cerdas Humanis 1 (FCH) was held. The FCH 1 celebration was held in the Koendjono room. All the 25th batch of English Letters students gathered, divided into three classes, to put on a performance and have fun together. The event was held from 01:00 P.M. to 03:00 P.M. on Friday (05/12).

The event started with a potluck party. Where the students collect the gifts that they have brought. The students took random gifts from other people according to the queue paper number they got. They took the gifts in several queues at each break in music and art performances for each class so that the atmosphere remained orderly. Each class showed their best performance. Class A presented a jazz duet performance and a short musical drama of the song Jagoan from Sherina’s Adventure. Class B performed the songs Love Story from Taylor Swift and Kopi Dangdut and also danced Kewer-Kewer. Then, Class C performed a dance to the song What is Love from TWICE in their all-pink outfits and also performed the songs Kala Cinta Menggoda and Hari Bersamanya. Everyone had fun, and this could not be separated from several funny incidents that succeeded in making people laugh. There was no exception when 3 students from each class were asked to share their experiences during the FCH 1 class.

Epata Puji Astuti, S.S., M.A., the Vice Head of the English Letters Department of Universitas Sanata Dharma and DPA for Class B, expressed her expectation from this celebration. She said, “The students will feel the enthusiasm, and then they feel that they belong to the class, and they become comfortable with each other, they relate to each other, and then I hope that they will get the spirit to the next FCH, which is FCH 2.” This was also the first FCH celebration for her, she expressed her feelings, “I feel surprised, amazed with the talent show from all the classes. They do their best, they give their best; they express themselves to show their expression and talent, and of course it will become a memorable event for them also.”

Rakha, one of the students from Class C, expressed his opinion on the celebration. He said, “I think it is pretty fun. Having to be able to meet class A and B, cause usually they do FCH in their own class without seeing the other, so it’s pretty nice seeing the other classes—you know. Combine together in one room and we are having fun, celebrating together, doing a performance which is successful.” He added, “And for what I get from this FCH celebration, like before we do our finals, it is nice—you know. We get to talk to—you know—the other classes, we get to meet people that you don’t usually meet in your classes, on a daily basis. So it’s just an opportunity to socialise more, you know.”

With the success of this FCH celebration, it has not only become a celebration. But, this has become a place for students to get to know each other more closely, build healthy relationships among the students, and also helped the students to be more confident. (SN)
