Yogyakarta-The English Letters Students’ Association (Himpunan Mahasiswa Program Studi – HMPS) of Sanata Dharma University (USD) held its first monthly meeting of the odd semester, which also served as the last for the 2023 Athena Cabinet. The meeting, held on Friday (04/10) in room S.302, became a crucial moment to foster synergy and coordination between HMPS and the Study Program Activity Units (Unit Kegiatan Program Studi – UKPS) in an effort to ensure a successful conclusion to the remaining 2024/2025 management period, which will end in early November.

The event was attended by all HMPS members as well as representatives from the UKPS, including both chairpersons and several members. The presence of the Vice Head of the English Letters Study Program, Ms. Maria Epata Puji Astuti, gave weight to the meeting, where she provided critical input for the collaboration between UKPS and HMPS.

The meeting, which took place from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, ran smoothly. It began with a presentation session of UKPS activities by the representatives, interspersed with active discussions for mutual feedback. The session then continued with instructions and expectations from the Vice Head of the Study Program.

Bagus, the Coordinator of the HMPS Talent and Interest Division, conveyed that this meeting was an important closing for his cabinet.

Bagus said, “This is our final UKPS-HMPS meeting and a closing for our cabinet’s management.”

Bagus added that the main goal of the discussion was clarity. Bagus stated, “The goal of gathering and discussing is to understand the obstacles in program completion. We want to know what challenges the UKPS members are facing, and we will find solutions together. If things run smoothly, the management will conclude with good memories.”

In response to these hopes, Ms. Maria Epata Puji Astuti focused on the challenge of departmental activity exposure and publication. In her instruction, Ms. Epata urged the UKPS to develop exposure and be active in uploading activities so that the public can become more familiar with the initiatives within the USD English Letters Department.

Ms. Epata also highlighted the urgency of information updates. Ms. Epata stressed, “The latest data on the department’s official website is very outdated and must be immediately renewed,” emphasizing the need for immediate coordination to reactivate information channels.

Concluding the meeting, participants expressed a concerted commitment to finalize their management period well. Synergistic coordination and thorough preparation were agreed upon as the key to ensuring the various engaging activities planned by UKPS and HMPS can be successfully implemented. (AP)
