Yogyakarta – Students gathered as an educational talk show was held in the Kadarman Room at Campus 2 of Universitas Sanata Dharma. Aiming at enhancing students’ academic insight as part of the annual 3rd semester student development program. The event was organized by the English Letters Academic Club (ELAC) under the university’s study program, the English Letters Department. With the exciting theme, “Exploring American and British Culture and Everyday Life,” the talk show took place on Saturday (13/12), from 09.00 AM to 12.00 PM.

The talk show, hosted by ELAC, was designed to broaden students’ perspective and understanding of cultural perspectives in American and British daily life while encouraging academic discussion beyond the classroom.

Olive, the head of ELAC, voiced her anticipation regarding changes in future events in the upcoming years. “It will be different because our events are very varied, not only talk shows. Next year we will have competitions as well. Because our UKPS works in the academic field. So, we plan to reach all whatever topics that are under academics. It can be competitions, talk shows, and reading activities together like yesterday, so it will be a different approach.”

Saphira, a 3rd semester student and participant of the event, commented, “I think that this talk show is quite great, especially for, like, people who wonders about living in the US and UK, and they want to know more about the culture. And based on the speakers, they’re really good and give us many insights, right? So, we got to know more about what it’s like living in the US and in UK.”

Through this talk show the event ended with cheerful smiles and chatter. When the crowd of students finally headed home with a distributed free lunchbox and laughter as they interacted with classmates and friends alike. Commemorating yet another memorable event for students to remember.
