Yogyakarta — A career seminar was conducted by REALLY in the year 2025 with the theme “Ready and Prepared for the Real World: Strategies to Navigate Your Career After Graduation.” The event was held at Ruang Seminar Driyarkara, Campus II of Universitas Sanata Dharma, from 09:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. on Saturday (27/09).
The speaker of this career seminar was Daniel Gurusinga, S.S., CMT; he was a motivator and sales productivity coach and also an alumnus of Universitas Sanata Dharma. This event shared an overview of the world of work after college, filled with a speaker session, sharing from the participants, and a Q&A (Question & Answer) session.
Epata Puji Astuti, S.S., M.A., the Vice Head of the English Letters Department of Universitas Sanata Dharma and the person in charge of REALLY 2025, expressed her opinion on the theme chosen for the event. She said, “The theme is quite relevant with what is needed in the real world, which is about to prepare the young generations, especially English Letters students, after they graduate. The theme provides or prepares them, especially to have knowledge and prepare themselves by talking about their skill so that after they graduate, they are really confident to apply for a certain job based on their passion or not, but they are really ready to be employed in any kind of sector of job.”
Mars, the Head of REALLY 2025, expressed her relief and gratitude to the committees after the event. She stated, “It was a great relieved because we ourselves went through some hurdles; we also had internal problems regarding our speakers, but I myself am grateful to be able to get colleagues who are very trustworthy and can rely on each other. We really work well and maximally, so we can cover all our flaws that have occurred before this D-Day.”
Una, the Head of the English Letters Student Association, shared her opinion after attending REALLY 2025. She said, “I think REALLY 2025 is very memorable because the theme chosen is very relevant and can also engage a lot of students from the English Letters Department because the material is about how we look for job opportunities, especially for us fresh graduates later. So, I hope this event can inspire everyone and be useful for everyone.”
Amor, a participant of REALLY 2025 and also a student from the English Letters Department of batch 24, expressed her impression of the event. She said, “This event was really exciting and helpful for me because, for me, I’m kinda overthinking about life after graduation, so I think it’s very helpful for me to be more ready.”
With the success of REALLY 2025, this career seminar not only provided valuable insights into post-graduation life and its challenges to the students but also helped students to build their confidence and prepare themselves to enter the job life. (JF)
