The Annual Halloween Event Brings a Night of Celebration to Students and Community

Yogyakarta – Students and communities gathered at Universitas Sanata Dharma once again captured the whimsical joy of the spooky season held on Thursday (30/10) for the annual Halloween event, organized by the EEC Speaking Club and EIC English Activity under the university’s Language Institute (Lembaga Bahasa), to celebrate creativity and build a sense of community through fun activities, fashion show experience, and real-life speaking practice.

With a playful spooky theme, the attendees were entertained by the organized activities hosted. The event, which ran from 4:30 PM until 8:00 PM, went seamlessly and drew a lively crowd that filled the Student Hall Campus I Mrican throughout the evening.

Tuta, a teacher at the Language Institute (Lembaga Bahasa), expressed her enthusiasm for the new events added this year. “Okay. So what’s new here, we add some fun activity that is fashion show. We didn’t do that last year. And then we have the discussion, also fun discussion. But the newest one I think should be the fashion show.”

Rafael, an English letters student from Universitas Sanata Dharma, commented, “I just want to take a stroll to this Campus I. I guess I’ve never been here before. And then it’s Halloween event. I love candy, I love chocolate, especially the free meal I got, yeah.”

The event concluded with a lively and upbeat atmosphere, as attendees interacted with each other, followed by the photo sessions of friends together by the spooky background, as well as the distribution of dinner as a final token of appreciation. This event highlights the event’s preparation and solid coordination by the organizers. Marking the event a success in offering entertainment, engagement, and a sense of community. This year’s additions made the celebration even more interesting and enjoyable for all attendees.
